## ShotBits is becoming a more complete social platform
ShotBits has always been about sharing content, discovering creators and building a community around photos, Posts and real interactions.
With this major update, we are taking that experience much further. We have introduced new ways to share everyday moments, recognize valuable contributions, discover interesting people and keep track of what is happening across the community.
Everything has been designed to make ShotBits feel more personal, active and enjoyable, without changing the earning features and wallet system that users already know.

## Share temporary moments with Stories
Stories give you a faster and more casual way to share something with the community.
You can create three different types of Stories:
- Text Stories for thoughts, announcements and quick messages.
- Image Stories for photos and visual updates.
- Shot Stories for sharing one of your existing public Shots again.
Stories appear at the top of the ShotBits Social Home (/) and remain available for a limited time.
The Story viewer allows users to move between updates, pause a Story, open the original shared Shot and view each creator’s active Stories as one continuous collection.
### Story privacy and control
Story visibility follows the same privacy and safety rules used across ShotBits. Blocked users, hidden profiles and unavailable content remain protected.
Story owners can also see who viewed their Stories. Views from the owner are not counted, so the number represents actual community viewers.
---
## Preserve your favorite Stories with Highlights
Stories may be temporary, but some moments deserve to remain on your profile.
Highlights allow creators to organize selected Stories into permanent collections. You can use them for personal updates, photography themes, community memories, project progress or anything else you want visitors to find later.
Each Highlight can include:
- A custom title.
- A visual cover.
- One or more selected Stories.
- A dedicated viewer for moving through the collection.
Creators can create, rename, update and remove their own Highlights directly from their profile or while viewing one of their Stories.
---
## A completely improved creator profile
Creator profiles have been redesigned to feel more like a true social identity and less like a simple list of statistics.
Profiles now bring together the creator’s cover, avatar, biography, public information, activity and content in a more compact and visual layout.
The new profile sections include:
- Overview for recent and featured activity.
- Shots for visual content.
- Posts for written updates.
- Reactions for community interaction.
- Highlights for preserved Stories.
- Milestones for important community achievements.
- Recognition for Kudos and creator appreciation.
Profile statistics are also easier to understand, with clear access to followers, following, Shots, Posts, views and recognition received.
Every public creator profile remains available through its personal address: shotbits.net/
@username.

## Recognize positive contributions with Kudos
Kudos are a simple way to recognize content and contributions that add something positive to the ShotBits community.
They are not payments and do not affect wallet balances. They are a free form of community recognition.
Users can send Kudos to eligible content created by other people. Daily limits help keep the system meaningful and prevent it from becoming repetitive or abused.
Kudos can also be removed, allowing users to change their reaction without creating duplicate records.
---
## Creator Appreciation for valuable comments
Creators can now personally appreciate comments and replies left under their content.
This is different from a normal Like. Creator Appreciation shows that the owner of the original content found a particular contribution useful, thoughtful, funny or meaningful.
These appreciations appear inside the creator recognition experience and help highlight positive participation across the community.
---
## Improved comments across Posts and Shots
Comments now provide a more consistent experience throughout ShotBits.
Whether you are commenting from the Social Home, a Shot page or a Post page, you will find the same actions and behavior.
Available actions can include:
- Like.
- Reply.
- Copy a direct link to the comment.
- Highlight a creator reply.
- Send Creator Appreciation.
- Edit or delete your own comment.
Direct comment links now help visitors reach the relevant discussion without having to search through the entire page.
---
## Discover more creators and content
The Social Home now includes several new discovery experiences designed to introduce users to content they may not have found otherwise.
### Random Shot
Random Shot surfaces a public Shot from the community and gives older or less visible content another opportunity to be discovered.
### Random Creator
Random Creator introduces a public creator outside your usual feed and provides quick access to their profile and content.
### Growing Creator
Growing Creator highlights someone receiving increased interest or interaction from the community.
### Hidden Gem
Hidden Gem gives additional visibility to quality content that may not yet have received much attention.
### Welcome new members
New community members can be introduced through dedicated discovery cards, making it easier for them to receive their first profile visits and interactions.
### Creators you may like
Creator recommendations help users find people based on public activity and social relevance. The recommendation system rotates available creators instead of continuously presenting the same small group.
Discovery modules can also be dismissed when they are not relevant, and ShotBits remembers that choice for the appropriate period.

## Monthly Community Recaps
The new Community Recap (/recap) provides a monthly overview of activity across ShotBits.
A recap can include:
- Community growth.
- Shots and Posts published.
- Kudos and reactions.
- Popular content.
- Growing creators.
- Hidden Gems.
- Community milestones.
- Public payment activity.
Published recaps remain available in an archive, allowing the community to look back at how ShotBits has changed over time.
---
## More transparent Payment Proofs
The Payment Proofs page (/proofs) has also been improved.
Visitors can search and explore public payment records through a cleaner and more responsive experience.
Personal information remains protected, and only details intended for public confirmation are shown. Previous payments demonstrate platform activity but do not guarantee future earnings for any individual user.
---
## Better account security and session control
The Account Security area now provides a clearer overview of the protections enabled on an account.
Users can more easily review:
- Email verification.
- Password and PIN protection.
- Current sessions.
- Recent security activity.
- Recent login information.
The Sessions & Devices page also makes it easier to identify the current browser, review other active sessions and sign out devices that are no longer recognized.
---
## A clearer notification experience
Notifications have been reorganized to make important activity easier to identify.
Users can distinguish read and unread updates, filter notification types and open the related content directly.
This includes social activity, account updates, community events and other information that may require attention.
---
## Improved reliability behind the scenes
This update also includes important improvements to the systems that protect and maintain ShotBits.
Backup operations are now handled through a safer request queue. This allows administrative backup requests to be processed securely without slowing down normal website activity.
We have also improved consistency across dates, privacy checks, media access, comment counts and social recommendations.
These changes may not always be visible, but they help keep the platform safer, more reliable and easier to maintain.
---
## Built around real community interaction
This update is not simply a collection of new buttons.
Stories make sharing faster. Highlights preserve important moments. Kudos and Creator Appreciation recognize positive participation. Discovery helps creators reach new people. Community Recaps show how the platform is growing.
Together, these features move ShotBits closer to our goal: creating a social platform where content, community and earning opportunities can exist in the same place.
Visit the ShotBits Social Home (/) and start exploring the new experience.
